Strong safety Anthony Scirrotto had 5 of the 7 charges against him dropped. Centre County Judge Charles Brown Jr. revoked the charges of burglary and criminal solicitation; two misdemeanor counts of criminal solicitation; and one misdemeanor count of simple assault.
The judge ruled that there was no evidence that Scirrotto started the fight on the night of April 1, but let stand a felony count of criminal trespass and Scirrotto still has one count of harassment.
Scirrotto and 3 other players were expelled from the second summer session at Penn State, but now are eligible to play for the fall season under coach Joe Paterno.
It is still unknown what other punishment Paterno will deal out, but he has ordered the football team to clean Beaver Stadium after every home game.
